In the below file you can find the costs we experienced during November 2022 while travelling Ruta 40 in Argentina . The “basket items” with costs are only what we purchased in that time (or remembered to capture… ). Also included is the costs we captured during our brief 2 weeks in BA during March 2022.
We have made the conversion to USD at both the “Blue dollar” rate and the official rate and compared to the costs in South Africa for the some period, what is very evident is how in Peso’s the costs have changed in 8 months AND that while the blue dollar generally makes most items cheaper if do not have access to this facility (your average Argentinian citizen) then the cost of living is expensive.
As always this is not a definitive analysis but rather serves the purpose to give a general indication of costs.
