2020

9 January: Mr Jones related. Rewired a loose wire on the alternator, the one running to dash warning lights.

25 January: Mr Jones related. (1) Replaced Universal Joint on rear prop shaft (2) Tightened handbrake (3) Steering drop arm boot partially perished: filled with grease and sealed up with duct tape

3 February: Mr Jones related. (1) Front left indicator – loose connection; (2) Windscreen wiper switch – dodgy connection – fiddled & for now fixed… ; (3) removed damaged right hand back passenger step damaged on mud roads

10 February: Mr Jones related. (1) Greased propshafts and all UJ joints; (2) New fan belt

24 February: Mr Jones related. New/refurbished front propshaft

28 February: Mr Jones related. Loose nut on rear suspension linkage (drivers side)

1 March: Mr Jones related. Lubrication of steering joints; brake pad condition check; lube hinges; clean air filter; (etc general service items)

9 March: Mr Jones related. Oil and filter change (general service); new engine mounts; Clean air filter

25 March: Mr Jones related. Replaced cracked earth terminal for auxiliary battery

July: Mr Jones related. Service items – Oil changes for Gearbox, transfer box, and front differential; Swivel pin oil topped up; Fuel filter change; Air filter change; rear brake pads replaced. Improvement to fuel return line – inserted copper elbow to stop kinking of pipe (creating a vacuum) at fuel tank. Replaced broken speedometer cable. Coolant flush and refill.

13 & 14 August: Mr Jones related. New Starter motor & alternator. (The pulley wheel bearing in alternator would appear to have been packing up for a while, eventually seizing solid, which caused the starter to work harder than required and thus burnt out starter motor) 

16 August: Mr Jones related. Replacement of front vent mechanism and Heater matrix, both of which broke many months ago. (Heater in Mozambique/August 2019 & vent mechanism in February 2020).

30 September: Mr Jones related. Replacement of Drop Arm swivel boot (only); New seals for Swivel Pin Housing.

1 October 2020: Mr Jones related. Replacement of rear brake pads (again). Previous batch from July have been squealing badly even though in theory the correct part #.

8 October: Not Mr Jones related. New “chassis” box for National Luna Fridge, after it started to loose gas and they couldn’t find the leak.

18 October: Mr Jones related. New fuel filler cap, in an attempt to solve the fuel vacuum and starvation issue we are experiencing.

December 2020: Mr Jones related. New front brake calipers and pads. First attempted to overhaul the callipers but when that didn’t work replaced them with new ones.

December 2020: Mr Jones related. New fuel lift pump in an attempt to solve the fuel vacuum and starvation issue we are experiencing.

December 2020: Mr Jones related. Oil and filter change (standard service interval)

December 2020: Mr Jones related. Removal and re-grease of rear wheel bearings (standard service interval)

December 2020: Mr Jones related. New fuel return pipe to tank in an attempt to resolve the fuel vacuum and starvation issue we are experiencing.
